Sharing data connections
Beta feature 🚨
Please note that sharing data connections is currently a BETA feature, so please treat with caution as we are in this testing phase. Given it is a new feature you may also experience some issues (or have feedback), please reach out to us if you do!
You can now share connections to your third-party integrations (e.g. BigQuery, Google Sheets) with other users. This is useful when you want to allow someone to create data sources with an integration you connected.
The three access types are use, edit, and full:
- Use: can use the connection to create data sources, can't see other users' data sources created with the connection
- Edit: can edit/reconnect the connection and use it to create data sources, can't see other users' data sources created with the connection
- Full: can edit/reconnect/delete the connection and use it to create data sources. Can share the connection with other users and has access to all data sources created with the connection
To create a new connection or share/edit an existing connection, head to the Data Page, scroll down to Connect New Data Source, and navigate to the data connection you care about (e.g. Google Sheets). Click the three dots on the top right of the modal (as per screenshot below). If there are multiple existing connections (i.e. accounts / log-ins) you can navigate here to choose which connection you wish to share/edit.

You can share connections with members of your Teams, Organisation, or directly with any Causal user
You can share your connections to Google Sheets, Xero, Quickbooks Online, Snowflake and BigQuery
