Sharing data connections

You can now share connections to your third-party integrations (e.g. BigQuery, Google Sheets) with other users.

The three access types are use, edit, and full:

  • Full: can edit/reconnect/delete the connection and use it to create data sources. Can share the connection with other users and has access to all data sources created with the connection
  • Edit: can edit/reconnect the connection and use it to create data sources, can't see other users' data sources created with the connection
  • Use: can use the connection to create data sources, can't see other users' data sources created with the connection

Full is useful for sharing connections like Payroll and Accounting systems (where you usually want them to see all data sources associated with the connection), whereas the more restrictive Edit or Use might be more useful for data warehouses where you want to allow others to create queries / data sources, but not see all of your queries / data sources.

Share an existing connection

To share/edit an existing connection, head to the Data Page, scroll down to the relevant Data Connection and hit the share icon at the top-right.
