Editable Tables

Editable Tables are a special type of table that modelers can add to their dashboards, to make edits (or allow others to make edits) to category items, and their associated mappings and variables. They are especially useful when you need end-users, often unfamiliar with spreadsheets, to easily provide their inputs towards a budget (e.g. a department head adding their projected new hires for the upcoming year).

Configuring editable tables

First, select Editable Table in the 'New Chart' drop-down.

Then, choose the Editable Category: the category whose items you want to be editable by others (e.g. Employee, Vendor)

  • Allow creation/deletion (on by default) lets others create new items, and rename/delete existing items (e.g. add new employees, rename/delete existing employees).

Last, choose the associated Columns: the columns that you want to be seen and/or editable for each item.

  • These can either be associated variables (e.g. an Employee's start date), or associated category mappings (e.g. an Employee's Title)
  • Values can be updated (on by default) lets others update the values of these associated columns. If this is toggled off, they will just be able to view but not edit/update the columns.
